Improve wellbeing with relaxation and creativity

Join us for this transformative session during Mental Health Awareness Week 2024, aimed at cultivating relaxation and creativity. This session led by Indu Khurana, a psychotherapist and coach, will include a range of creative activities themed around the approaching season of summer.

The session will start with some guided meditation, a doodle styled exercise and finally a creative activity using circles to shape a story. Indu says that attendees can expect to experience a sense of tranquillity, fun and creative expression in this interactive session.

This session is ideal for those seeking relaxation, creative exploration, self-expression and a break from daily stressors.

How the session will be organised

Exercise 1, Clear the mind

  • Relaxation and meditation accompanied by soothing music
  • Visualising your ideal summer space and experiencing deep relaxation

Exercise 2, Doodle

  • Doodling on the theme of summer from a relaxed state
  • Colouring patterns that emerge
  • Option to share your doodles in small groups

Exercise 3, Circle drawing

  • Drawing 20 circles and transforming them into various entities inspired by summer
  • Crafting a story for selected creations
  • Sharing stories in small groups

At the end of the session there will be opportunity to share your story from the circle draw exercise in the larger group and for participants to give one-word feedback or phrase to describe their current feelings.

More about Indu Khurana

Indu Khurana, a psychotherapist and coach who has facilitated workshops like this for over 20 years and lives with multiple sclerosis (MS) herself. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience in resilience-building through stress minimisation and is passionate about helping people with MS (PwMS) remain productive members of society for as long as they possibly can.

Indu works towards helping PwMS to remain in work – whether that means employment or starting a business – by supporting them 1 to 1 as well as offering accessibility consultancy to organisations where necessary.

How to book

To join this session, please login or register in our Portal area. The session is free to join if you have a monthly or year subscription. You do not need a subscription to join, as you can register and provide a donation for the class. The suggested amount for the class is £5. If you unable to make a donation, please contact us to see how you can access the online classes.

A recording will be made available on the portal after the class and can be viewed if you have purchased a ticket either before or after the class has taken place.
