Welcome to this informative session hosted by MS-UK’s Helpline team, Laura Amiss-Smith and Shaun Barton who will guide us through MS disease modifying therapies (DMTs).
We’ll explore how DMTs for MS have developed over time, what makes each treatment different, and how they continue to evolve. We’ll take a closer look at current and emerging clinical trials shaping the future of MS treatment, and we’ll also share useful resources to help you stay informed and supported.
Throughout the session, we’ll take you through the past, present, and future of MS treatments. From there, we’ll discuss what sets different therapies apart, examining how they work, what categories they fall into, and how they are administered. You’ll learn about beta interferons, monoclonal antibodies, immunomodulators, and HSCT, and what each means in real terms.
We’ll also shine a spotlight on some of the most promising research and clinical trials currently underway.
To wrap up, we’ll point you toward trusted resources where you can continue learning and feel confident navigating your treatment options (MS-UK’s DMT Choices booklet). Finally, we’ll open the floor for a question and answer, your chance to ask questions and share thoughts.
Whether you’re newly diagnosed, considering your options, or simply curious to learn more, this session will give you valuable insights and support from people who truly care. We’re looking forward to seeing you there!
