MS-UK is an unbiased and non-judgemental charity. We do not accept funding from sources that may, or can be perceived to jeopardise our ability to act in the best interests of people affected by multiple sclerosis (MS). This means we can remain independent and deliver the services that the MS community want and need.
We are very lucky to be funded by some amazing trusts and foundations to help us do this. This support from these grant making bodies means even more people affected by MS are able to live healthier and happier lives.
We are enormously grateful for support from our existing funders.
Thank you to the Fowler, Smith and Jones Trust, Essex Community Foundation and the National Community Lottery towards our wellness centre, Josephs Court. This has enabled the purchase of new specialist equipment, subsidised complementary therapy sessions, the purchase of Action Potential Simulation therapy machines, and subsidised Social Group activities that bring together people with MS, their families, carers and friends across north Essex.
The National Lottery Community Fund have also generously funded running costs of Josephs Court over five years.
We were thrilled to recently be awarded a grant from The Edward Gostling Foundation towards service delivery costs for MS-UK Counselling, the only telephone counselling service in the UK for people with a diagnosis of MS.
Long term supporters of the charity include The Light Fund and Colchester Catalyst and ACT.

Here is what we are actively looking for funding for at the moment...
We are seeking funding to ensure this service is here for people diagnosed with multiple sclerosis for the next three years. This donations based service is unique in the UK and delivered by professional counsellors with specialist MS training. Since launching this service in October 2017 we have delivered over 900 sessions to people across the country and the demand continues to grow for this service.
We recently ran a pilot of complementary therapies at Josephs Court, our wellness centre in Essex, with generous funding from the Essex Community Foundation. We are currently offering reflexology and massage which are very popular with clients. We want to expand this provision so more people can benefit from a wider range of therapies.
Keeping it all going
Like many charities, we are always looking for core funding to support our organisational running costs. This helps us to ensure we can deliver our exciting three year strategy and support even more people affected by MS.
