Our online MS support groupsPublished: 31 May 2024 MS-UK offer online support groups for people with multiple sclerosis (MS) to come together and talk to others in a similar situation. Our online communities, which are known as ‘Peer Pods’ are all focused on different points of interest and times throughout life. If our Peer pods sound like something that you might be interested in, then you should definitely read more about what groups we have! You can click the relevant buttons below the descriptions of our Pods to find out more. In the week sessions (Sunday – Wednesday) From Sunday to Wednesday, we have our ‘Drop-in’ groups where anyone with MS can talk about anything (MS related or not). All of these sessions are hosted in the afternoon with different hosts that lead the pods. Sunday Peer podMonday Peer podTuesday Peer podWednesday Peer pod Newly diagnosed Whether you’ve just been diagnosed or are coming to terms your MS, this is a safe space to meet like-minded people. Hosted by Lisa and Emma, this is a great environment to share your experiences with others who are going through a similar situation as well as from those who have been through it. Newly diagnosed Peer pod Women’s There is no set topic within the women’s Peer pod, but the main thing is that this is a group for women to have conversations in. This pod came about by feedback from the MS community because there are some MS related topics that are quite difficult for women to talk about. Its aim is to make MSers feel more comfortable to talk about topics that matter to them. Women's Peer pod Caregivers Hearing from others who care for family and friends with MS can make a world of difference. Our Caregiver’s Peer Pod gives care givers a chance to chat and speak openly about their feelings which might be harder for people not in a similar situation to understand. Our hosts for this pod are Sam and Russ who are both carers for their partners and will guide this monthly session. Caregivers Peer pod MS and work This is a chance for those who have MS and are still working to come together every fortnight. The aim for this pod is to provide a way for people to encourage and support each other going through a similar situation of being employed whilst having a long-term health condition. MS and work Peer pod Parents with MS Parenthood is hard no matter how old your children are, but adding something like MS on top of that can make your job as a parent even harder. This Peer pod is designed with parents in mind to encourage and support one and other in addition to talk about their experiences. Parent and MS Peer pod LGBTQ+ This Peer pod is specifically for MSers within the LGBTQ+ community and is a safe space to talk about all things MS. This pod is hosted by Anji and will give you a chance to meet people within the community just like yourself! LGBTQ+ Peer pod Other Stories You May Be Interested In...
