Accessible cycling sessions in the west countryPublished: 05 March 2025 Olivia Bowker from Bike the UK for MS says come and get moving with our accessible cycling sessions! At Bike the UK for MS, we believe that cycling should be accessible to everyone, regardless of ability. That’s why we’re thrilled to launch our Accessible Cycling Sessions – fun, inclusive, and supportive events designed for anyone who wants to experience the joy of cycling. These sessions offer a fantastic opportunity to try adapted bikes, stay active, and connect with others in the MS community and beyond. Whether you’re looking to build confidence, enjoy some low-impact exercise, or simply have fun, we’d love to see you there! Upcoming sessions We’re kicking off our first sessions of the year this March, with more planned for April. Forest of Dean Cycle Centre – 12th March, 12:00-13:00 Moredon Sporting Hub, Swindon – 13th March, 12:00-13:00 Odd Down Cycle Track, Bath – 14th March, 11:00-12:00 These outdoor sessions provide a safe, welcoming space to try a bike that suits your needs and enjoy the freedom of cycling. Who can join? Our Accessible Cycling Sessions are open to anyone who would benefit from using an adaptive bike. While our focus is on individuals affected by multiple sclerosis (MS), everyone is welcome, whether or not you’re part of an MS Society group. What to expect We’ll have a variety of adapted cycles available, including hand bikes for those who prefer to pedal with their arms, tricycles, which provide extra stability and confidence, and wheelchair bikes which make cycling possible for all. Each session is designed to be fun, friendly, and pressure-free – they are simply an opportunity to try something new, meet others, and enjoy the benefits of cycling. How to get involved Interested in joining? Have any questions? Reach out to us at info@biketheukforms.org or message us on Instagram or Facebook (@biketheukforms). These sessions are just one of the many ways our cyclists’ fundraising efforts make a difference. Come along, give it a go, and experience the freedom of cycling!
