Happy New Year from the fundraising team at MS-UK! And what a brilliant subject to write our first blog post of 2017 on, our Winter Draw. This year with your help the Winter Draw raised £3,696! Your Winter Draw entries looked a little like snow in our ticket container, and as we drew out the names of the winners there was certainly a similar feeling to the excitement of a white Christmas! To be able to give some great prizes back to our festive fundraisers who took part in the draw was an amazing feeling! So, without further ado, I’d like to announce some of our lucky winners!
Combined with everything you did for our Festive Frolic campaign you all raised over £6,000 for MS-UK!
We would like to say thank you to everyone that took part. Whether you bought a Winter Draw ticket, held a Festive Frolic for your friends and family or organised a bag packing event at your local supermarket, you helped raise vital funds to keep our services running! If you want to find out more or have an amazing idea for a fundraiser in 2017, please get in touch with me by phone on 01206 226 500 or by email! We are very much looking forward to 2017! Over the weekend of Saturday 10 – 11 December a group of willing volunteers all made their way to the local Marks and Spencer store to help the customers pack their shopping bags!
We all had a fantastic time and this was our way of taking part in the MS-UK Festive Frolic campaign. Holding a bag pack is so easy to do and I would recommend it to anyone! To find out more do get in touch with Nick today.
We arrived early and were all ready to start packing. Everyone choose their till and made each customer feel welcome.
Unfortunately the till I had chosen kept breaking which meant I was packing the same person’s bag for 15 minutes, but least we got to have a fun conversation. I can honestly say that by the end of the day my bag packing skills had vastly improved.
All the staff at M&S were so welcoming and made our day more enjoyable. Over the whole weekend the very generous customers donated a whooping £1,012.78. This is awesome and we cannot thank the amazing shoppers enough for their generosity!
This weekend couldn’t have happened without the brilliant volunteers we had over both of the days. A massive thank you must go out to M&S who helped organise the weekend with us. We are already looking forward to next years bag packing, it is a great day out and you get to meet loads of interesting people.
From the much improved bag packing king, we look forward to seeing you all at a bag pack again soon!!!

Black Friday is upon us and I am sure you will make some mega savings! Maybe you will find a toaster for half price in one of your favourite high street shops, or perhaps you’ll find your favourite game on offer for a fraction of the price!
But what to do with all the savings?!
Of course we’re going to say, why not donate your #GivingTuesday mega savings to MS-UK!
You can also tweet us your pictures of you ‘doing good stuff’ at @MSUK6 (although keep these for 29 November as we want the hashtag trending on the day!)
No matter what it is, we want you to do a good thing by supporting MS-UK for #GivingTuesday!
Good luck, and hope you bag a bargain!
Are you a dab hand in the kitchen?
If so, you could be on to a #GivingTuesday winner! Why not make some gingerbread men or your signature dish for the people in your office to enjoy and you will have done your ‘good stuff’ for the day! You could ask for donations to MS-UK in return!
This could be a great way to show off your cooking skills and bring cheer to the office. Get in contact with me as I would love to hear what you are baking for your colleagues!
Don’t forget to tweet us a picture of your baking prowess to @MSUK6 using the hashtag #GivingTuesday on the day!

Tuesday 29 November is known as #GivingTuesday and this year we are asking people to do good stuff for it!
#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fuelled by the power of social media and collaboration which kicks off the charitable season straight after Black Friday and Cyber Monday!
#GivingTuesday is a huge celebration of doing some good stuff for charity and to inspire as many people as possible. Don’t miss out on your chance to be part of this amazing day and support MS-UK!
Thanks for all your support!

With so many creative ideas coming from our supporters it was about time I got involved with a Festive Frolic of my own!
So, when one of my best friends Lucy offered to hand-make some Christmas cards and sell them on behalf of MS-UK it seemed like the perfect opportunity to get some friends together.
The evening started early at 7 pm and friends and neighbours dropped by to buy cards and Winter Draw tickets and have a glass of fizz. By the end of the night all of the cards were sold and a few of us stayed on for a good old natter and to finish up the Prosecco.
It was a great excuse to get friends together, meet new people and raise money for MS-UK at the same time!
So with that in mind, it’s not too late to organise a Festive Frolic of your own! If you don’t fancy hosting your own party you could make a donation and wear a festive jumper or woolly hat to work?
Or you could have a family and friends minced pie bake off! All donations from pie sales to MS-UK!
So my advice to you is don your Santa hats, get your reindeer jumpers on and bake some mince pies and hold a festive get together all in aid of a great cause!
