In this session, Dr Gretchen Hawley focuses on bladder and bowel and the physiotherapy approaches that can be used in the management of issues associated, including exercises for stretching and strengthening the pelvic floor.

The session discusses the terms of incontinence, urgency, frequency and retention and how these are all related to the issues of bladder and bowel problems.

Along with discussing the physiotherapy interventions we will also discuss the ‘non-physiotherapy’ management guidelines to provide a holistic overview to the other options available.

• Guidelines to manage bowel and bladder dysfunction
• Exercises to improve flexibility and strength of the pelvic floor
• Questions and answers (from the live session, you won’t be able to ask your own questions)

About Dr Hawley

A Doctor of Physical Therapy, with years of clinical practice experience, Gretchen is a Physical Therapist and Multiple Sclerosis Certified Specialist through the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centres based in the USA.

She has a special interest in the management and wellness of MS patients, and presents as the Keynote Speaker at numerous MS events including Living Well with MS events sponsored by the MS Society in addition to MS Views & News. Other collaborations include national MS organisations, including the National MS Society, MS Association of America, and MS Foundation. Additionally, Dr Gretchen shares her expertise to MS support groups, podcasts, and on her own YouTube and social media channels.
