Higgy's Heroes are aptly named after MS-UK’s patron, Alastair "Higgy" Hignell.

Higgy was a renowned sportsman and, in his later career, a broadcaster for the BBC.  He was diagnosed with MS in 1999 and became involved in MS charities a year later.  Together with his family, the fundraising efforts spiralled and soon many others were involved, for example, a group of Alastair's contemporaries from his Cambridge University days.  It was through their participation in  the London Marathon to raise funds for Alastair's charity that “Higgy's Heroes” was born.

So how can you be one of Higgy’s Heroes?  It‘s easy!  Either join one of our existing events or arrange an event of your own to raise money for MS-UK.  It can be as simple as a sponsored walk, a rugby match or a bake sale.  Let us know what you’re doing and we’ll send you a fundraising pack along with lots of support and encouragement.

Contact Paula by emailing paula@ms-uk.org or phone 01206 226500.
