Thank you for supporting us on #GivingTuesday!

Posted on: November 30 2016

Hi everyone,

Well, yesterday was great! We greeted commuters with a smile at our local train station, and then headed to our local Waitrose to help shoppers pack their bags. Doing good stuff is a lot of fun!

A massive thank you to everyone who supported MS-UK on #GivingTuesday – we had an amazing time out and about in our local community, but also on our Facebookpage and on our Twitter page, engaging with other charities and spreading a positive message.

20161129_103303.jpgWe are proud to have been featured on the #GivingTuesday website too, so a big thank you to the national campaign for making yesterday so memorable!

Of course, you can still donate to MS-UK on the Virgin Money Giving website.

Thank you again!

Now, we better get planning for 2017!

Best wishes,

Today is a national day of doing good stuff, known as Giving Tuesday, and MS-UK is out and about in our local community to celebrate!

This morning we greeted commuters at Colchester North train station, and this afternoon we’re at our local Waitrose store (St Andrews Avenue) helping shoppers pack their bags – so come say hello!

You can make a difference this #GivingTuesday by making a donation to MS-UK.

Thank you!

One day to go until #GivingTuesday!

Hi everyone,tracy-wellsted-page-2-page-5.jpg

#GivingTuesday is happening tomorrow and we are so excited! We’ll be out and about in our local community ‘doing good stuff’, and we can’t wait.

If you haven’t been able to organise anything for the day by doing good stuff then don’t’ worry – why not make a donation on our #GivingTuesday page?

By donating to MS-UK, you’ll be helping us continue our vital work supporting anyone affected by multiple sclerosis. And there’s a little something in return for you…

  • Donate £5 and we’ll give you a shout out on Twitter
  • Donate £10, and you can grab a MS-UK trolley key ring or a MS-UK badge
  • Donate £20, and we’ll send you a MS-UK cotton t-shirt
  • Donate £50 and you will receive a very special limited edition MS-UK goody bag!

Don’t forget to tweet us with your #GivingTuesday pictures too, or share them on Facebook so we can see what you’re up to!

Thank you for all your support,

Black Friday is upon us!

Posted on: November 25 2016

Black Friday is upon us and I am sure you will make some mega savings! Maybe you will find a toaster for half price in one of your favourite high street shops, or perhaps you’ll find your favourite game on offer for a fraction of the price!

social-posts-v3_recovering-v11.jpg

But what to do with all the savings?!

Of course we’re going to say, why not donate your #GivingTuesday mega savings to MS-UK!

You can also tweet us your pictures of you ‘doing good stuff’ at @MSUK6 (although keep these for 29 November as we want the hashtag trending on the day!)

No matter what it is, we want you to do a good thing by supporting MS-UK for #GivingTuesday!

Good luck, and hope you bag a bargain!

Halloween, baked beans and much more...

Posted on: November 24 2016

Last month we held our Halloween cyclathon, and it was amazing! A massive thank you to everyone who came along to Josephs Court in Essex and contributed to the day!

You can now view the photos from the day on our Facebook page!

Bake up a storm!

cake-1.jpgAre you a dab hand in the kitchen?

If so, you could be on to a #GivingTuesday winner! Why not make some gingerbread men or your signature dish for the people in your office to enjoy and you will have done your ‘good stuff’ for the day! You could ask for donations to MS-UK in return!

This could be a great way to show off your cooking skills and bring cheer to the office. Get in contact with me as I would love to hear what you are baking for your colleagues!

Don’t forget to tweet us a picture of your baking prowess to @MSUK6 using the hashtag #GivingTuesday on the day!

Good luck!

Gift wrapping for #GivingTuesday...

Posted on: November 22 2016

Hi everyone,

You may have heard that your friends, family or colleagues will be taking part in either Black Friday or Cyber Monday and trying to get the best deals on their Christmas gifts!

social-posts-v3_giving-tuesday_v1.jpgBut if you are like me and don’t like the hustle and bustle of it all but still wanting to take part in some way then look to #GivingTuesday instead!

#GivingTuesday is a national campaign for people to get involved and do good stuff for charities. This is your chance to help anyone that did get involved in Black Friday or Cyber Monday and help raise money for MS-UK in the process!

Why not speak to the people who got the best deals and offer to gift wrap their gifts for them for a small donation so they don’t have to! You will now be taking part in #GivingTuesday and doing good stuff for your friends and family but also for MS-UK!!!!

For more information please contact me and I will be happy to help or you can visit our campaign page and make a small donation for #GivingTuesday.

Best wishes,

Big thank you to Brightlingsea Regent Football Club!

Posted on: November 18 2016

fb1.jpgHi everyone,

On Saturday 12 November Myles and the MS-UK team went along to the Brightlingsea Regent Football Club FA Trophy match against Harlow Town – a big thank you to the team for welcoming us!

Unfortunately the weather was against us and continued to rain all afternoon, but this did not dampen the spirits of the few supports who braved the weather to watch their club.

fb2.jpgThe first half went well ending in a 0 – 0 with both sides playing well in the conditions and Myles and the MS-UK team were treated like VIP’s with lots of food and drink and the Chairman Terry Doherty had even put some editorial about us in their programme!

The second half started well until three of the floodlights went out and the referee called off the match, but the whole experience was great as none of us had been to a football match before!

A big thank you to the team and everyone involved!

Putting the fizz into a Festive Frolic!

Posted on: November 18 2016

blog-image-for-18-11-16.jpgHi everyone,

With so many creative ideas coming from our supporters it was about time I got involved with a Festive Frolic of my own!

So, when one of my best friends Lucy offered to hand-make some Christmas cards and sell them on behalf of MS-UK it seemed like the perfect opportunity to get some friends together.

The evening started early at 7 pm and friends and neighbours dropped by to buy cards and Winter Draw tickets and have a glass of fizz. By the end of the night all of the cards were sold and a few of us stayed on for a good old natter and to finish up the Prosecco.

It was a great excuse to get friends together, meet new people and raise money for MS-UK at the same time!

So with that in mind, it’s not too late to organise a Festive Frolic of your own! If you don’t fancy hosting your own party you could make a donation and wear a festive jumper or woolly hat to work?

Or you could have a family and friends minced pie bake off! All donations from pie sales to MS-UK!
So my advice to you is don your Santa hats, get your reindeer jumpers on and bake some mince pies and hold a festive get together all in aid of a great cause!

To join in with the fun, just visit www.ms-uk.org/festivefrolic today!

Best wishes,
